Sowing season:

CHAMPION is a blend of modern microturf varieties of American breeding, highly resistant to drought, disease, and heat. It creates a dense, medium-fine, dark green lawn, ideal for gardens, recreational areas, and repairing damaged grass. It is suitable for full sun and partial shade and tolerates low mowing.

1. Soil Preparation

Before sowing, the soil must be properly prepared. Remove all weeds, stones, and debris from the surface. Then, loosen or till the soil to a depth of 15–20 cm to improve aeration and create a soft base for the roots. If the soil is compact or clayey, it can be improved by mixing in sand or well-matured compost. Finally, level the surface and create a slight slope to ensure proper water drainage.

2. Sowing the Seeds

Distribute the CHAMPION seeds evenly at a rate of 35–50 g/m². It is recommended to sow in two directions: first horizontally and then vertically, to achieve even coverage. The ideal sowing period is March–May or September–October, with soil temperatures between 18 and 28 °C. After spreading the seeds, lightly rake the soil to cover them with approximately 1 cm of soil, then use a garden roller to improve seed-to-soil contact.

3. Initial Watering and Germination

After sowing, water gently with a fine spray to avoid displacing or accumulating the seeds in certain areas. During the germination phase, which can last 7–21 days depending on the climate, keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged.

4. First Mowing and Early Maintenance

Once the grass reaches a height of approximately 8 cm, the first mowing can be done. At this stage, reduce the height to 4–5 cm, removing no more than one-third of the grass blade length. Apply a starter fertilizer at sowing and continue regular watering to encourage root development.

5. Long-Term Care

To maintain the lawn in optimal condition, fertilize at least twice a year (spring and autumn) using a balanced NPK fertilizer. Mow regularly and avoid waterlogging. For late-summer regeneration, mow low, scarify and remove thatch, overseed with 50 g/m² of CHAMPION seeds, cover with 2–3 mm of sand or soil, keep the soil moist, and apply starter fertilizer again.
