Even if the lawn is already existing, there are some points to consider when it comes to watering:
Basically, watering is done from March to October. From October to February, the lawn is drained and therefore no water needs to be administered.
Regardless of the season, the lawn should be watered early in the morning or in the evening, with preference given to the morning. During the night there is a lack of sun and heat, plants do not dry out properly, and fungal diseases can spread quickly.
Watering 2 to 3 times a week is sufficient in any soil condition and season. Even in summer, it is not necessary to water more than 2 to 3 times a week.
The amount of water given depends on the season. It varies between 25 to 40 mm. In summer, up to 40 mm should be administered. This ensures that enough water reaches the subsoil and is absorbed. With short daily waterings, however, much of the water evaporates unused before the soil can absorb it.
